This is the first of a special kind of experimental scenario I am making that is just one battle. The battle includes alot of units, about 40 per team, and I've created a special creature script that responds to your commands. This scenario is of a battle between Empire soldiers and golems in Eastern Valorim during the period of the monster plagues of Avernum 3.
I used a level 35 party built completely from the HTML to test the scenario, and they were able to do very well, though still making it somewhat difficult. That's my recommendation, but you can play the scenario however you like with whatever party. Also, you have two special abilities for this scenario. One gives you the X,Y coordinates of the party member who used the ability, the other allows you to give a command to your entire army.

Please email me any bugs you noticed or comments you have about the scenario to 01cptcharles@gmail.com.

Q: I've now read through all the dialog and I'm sitting on a hill in the middle of a field. What do I do?

A: The dialog tells you to command your units. Do this by talking to them or using the Banner item on them, each of your party gets one of these. Once you've finished this, go down the hill and you will be asked whether you are ready to begin the battle. Press 'Yes' and the two armies will start marching towards each other. Go into combat mode to make the advance go faster.

Q: What is this Banner item I have, and why can't I use it?

A: The Banner item can only be used in combat, so that during the battle you can still command your soldiers. When used on a friendly character, however, it will assume you are attacking them. Press the 'Attack' button to continue. Don't worry, there is no crime tolerance, so you can't be marked a criminal. Because of this, it would not be a good idea to attack your allies.

Q: What do the commands do?

A: Exactly what they say they do. You can have that character follow the party member you specify, stand still until you say otherwise, bless or haste allies if they are a priest or mage, move to the space that you specify, return to their defualt movement type, attack a specific unit or just quit and have them continue what they were doing before.

Q: I don't want to play this scenario any more. How do I leave?

A: Go to any edge of the map, you will be asked if you want to leave or not. Depending on whether you've finished the battle, a dialog box will appear telling of either your cowardly flight, or your victorous march home.

Q: Golems keep appearing, how can I win?

A: Only a certain number of new golems will appear. Just keep killing them until they spawn no more. I added this so that is would seem that there are more golems than are actually there when the battle begins.

Q: I think I've killed all the golems, but nothing is happening. What gives?

A: End combat mode. If you have killed all the golems, a dialog box will appear and you will be rewarded for the combat. After that you can loot the battlefield and leave through the edges of the map.
